What It’s Like To Feel Supported

Support is about how you feel through the experience.

You may already know what a doula does. What matters most is how you feel.

Devoted, intuitive support for women who want to feel grounded, informed, and truly held through every stage of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

You don’t have to hold it all alone.

Birth support should feel calm, steady, and personal. It should help you feel informed in your choices, cared for in your experience, and supported without pressure.

Common Questions

Questions families often ask before booking

It’s normal to have questions before inviting someone into your pregnancy, birth, or postpartum experience. Here are a few clear answers to help you understand what support with Olivia can look like.

Do I still need a doula if I have a midwife or OB?

Yes. Your medical provider focuses on your clinical care. A doula supports you emotionally, physically, and continuously throughout your experience.

Will my partner still have a role?

Absolutely.

I support your partner as well, helping them feel confident and present while staying connected to you.

What if my birth doesn’t go as planned?

You are still supported.

My role is to help you feel grounded, informed, and cared for no matter how your birth unfolds.

When should I book a doula?

Most families book in the second trimester, though you can reach out at any time.

Availability is limited each month.

What does a birth doula do?

A birth doula provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout your labour and birth.

I’m there to help you feel calm, informed, and cared for every step of the way, from early labour through to the moment your baby arrives.

Do I need to have a birth plan ready?

Not at all.

Part of what we do together is work through your hopes, preferences, and questions so you feel prepared and confident.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before we connect.

What areas does Birth by Nature serve?

I’m based in Milton and serve Halton Region, the greater GTA, Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Hamilton, and surrounding areas.

Are there travel fees?

Travel within my primary service area is included.

If you’re located outside of that, we can discuss this during your consultation. I’m always happy to find what works.
